Jimmy Powell’s colleagues last night voted him two assignments.  In the event, Mayor Brian Ramey can’t fulfill his duties, Powell will step in as mayor pro-tem.  A second vote by the city council named Powell a new member of the board that regulates the fire department’s share of a 1% fund.
