Senecan accused in TV thefts

A 36-year old man in Seneca has been arrested and charged with taking television sets from the Wal-Mart on five occasions in the months of September and October.  Oconee sheriff’s officers served warrants at the Clemson City Jail, charging Leon Brian Hardee with multiple incidents of shoplifting.

Parade status

Seneca’s 6 o’clock Christmas parade takes place “rain or shine,” according to Jillian Lusk of Oconee Chamber of Commerce.  But rain has taken a toll on tomorrow’s parade plans in Clemson.  The city has announced that the Clemson parade will not take place tomorrow.  The new date is Thursday, with pre-parade festivities starting at 5 o’clock.

Walking trail to be lighted


If you trek the walking trail in front of Oconee Memorial Hospital, it’s easy to get the impression that someone is trying to get a message across to you.  And, last week, hospital officials announced that contributions from employees are going to allow for the light of the trail.

Once again, rain delays Streetscape

The rainy fall has again interfered with work on Walhalla Streetscape.  The contractor says, “We are ready to pour more sidewalks, curb and gutter on the North Side of Main between Catherine and Ann Streets” but it appears that today and, perhaps, the early part of the week are lost to the elements.

Dorothy “Dot” Stamey Bolick

Dorothy “Dot” Stamey Bolick, 93, of 502 Bolick Street, Seneca died Saturday at the Cottingham Hospice House.  She was the widow of Ernest “Bud” Bolick.  The funeral will be 11 a-m Friday at Davenport Funeral Home with burial to follow in Oconee Memorial Park.
