Animal Shelter to benefit from wine-tasting event

An event Valentine’s Day at Keowee Key will serve as a fundraiser to benefit the Oconee County Animal Shelter near Seneca. A group that helps the shelter sponsors a wine-tasting at the Keowee Key Activity Center Saturday, February 14 beginning at 5 p-m. Tickets are $20 and should be purchased in advance. Fire that nearly destroyed a Walhalla home last week remains under investigation. Chief Doug Kelley this morning said his department suspects that last Thursday night’s fire at 6 Keowee Street was an electrical fire, but will turn to an insurance company for its evaluation. Small fire at apartment complex
