The newest judge in Oconee County

The newest judge in Oconee, according to County Administrator Amanda Brock, is Cody Alexander.  He begins filling his duties as a part-time county magistrate – a newly-created position.  Apparently, there is at least one other judicial office to be filled in the county.  Seneca Magistrate Todd Simmons resigned this summer.  Seneca Magistrate is a full-time position.

Finally, the Tropics show life

In the Atlantic there’s now a named system:  Tropical Storm Danielle, which has formed between Bermuda and the Azores along a dying stationary front.  Danielle is nearly hurricane strength, at 70 MPH.  Frank Strait at the South Carolina Climate Office says, however, Danielle is NOT going to pass anywhere near SC.
