County offices in both Oconee and Pickens are closing early today. Oconee County offices are shutting down at 10:30 a-m. Pickens County offices close this morning at 11. SC 24 bridge closed

School District officials have learned of the closing of the S.C. 24 bridge over highway 11 because of icing, and that is likely to complicate traffic associated nearby with the closing for the day of West-Oak High School. At 10 this morning West-Oak and all other Oconee schools let out because of falling frozen precipitation.

OSD schools to let out at 10

Increasing reports of frozen precipitation have led Oconee public schools to let out this morning at 10. At 10, the buses will run, so parents are being asked to ensure that someone will be home to meet the children. St. John’s Pre-School dismisses at 9:30.
