Short deliberations produce guilty verdict

An Oconee jury returned a guilty verdict this afternoon in SC v. Gaines.  And the judge followed that verdict with the pronouncement of a 20-year prison term for Mack Adam Gaines.  At 62 years old, Gaines was found guilty of abuse or neglect resulting in death — vulnerable adult.  The victim was his 92-year old mother, Alma Louise Gaines.  It’s […]
