Patterson takes the oath of office

At Salem’s meet-and -greet event for the Christmas season, Russell Patterson took the oath to fill an unexpired term on the town council. Patterson won the town’s special election last month. He’s filling an unexpired term which runs until November of next year.

Interviews begin next week

A signature drive opposing Duke Energy’s plan to lower the level of Lake Keowee by five feet was explained last night to Oconee County Council. Steps toward new building

A contractor from Roebuck, S.C. is in line to build the new Anderson-Oconee Behavioral Health Building in Seneca, estimated at $1.6 million. The county is to own the building at E.N. 1st and Holleman streets. The verdict is not guilty

A widower left a Pickens courtroom a free man. Yesterday’s jury verdict in the case of Don Kinsela, accused of killing his wife, was not guilty. Cheryl Kinsela died in the summer of 2010 in a fire at the couple’s home.
