Sirens around the Oconee Nuclear Station are set for a three-minute test this morning around 11:50. No public action is required. By testing the sirens, state and county officials and Duke Energy ensure the sirens are operating properly and can be used in the event of an emergency.

“Active workstations” at the university library and the Academic Success Center are encouraging Clemson students and employees to get moving while studying or doing research. Workstations designed by FitDesk are being installed. They are a combination of a stationary bicycle with desk platform that allows the user to pedal while reading, using a computer or writing.

An Oconee County man, jailed in Walhalla, is accused of shoplifting two TV sets from Wal-Mart. Stanley Bernard Caldwell, 53, of the Sitton Mill Road, Seneca was booked into the detention center early Monday afternoon. Car-bus accident near Walhalla

An Oconee school bus was involved in the accident this morning on the Fowler Road near Walhalla, but district officials say there appear to be no injuries. According to Dr. Michael Thorsland, acting superintendent, the bus was occupied by the driver only. It’s believed the accident around 7:30 involved at least one car, possibly two.
