There is a water outage affected areas in the Avondale subdivision, Dickard Rd, Poplar Springs Rd, Bountyland Rd area. Crews are onsite working to restore water service. Once water is restored, there is a boil water advisory in place for 24 hours. Updates will be provided on the City website and Facebook page.

The state senator from Oconee-Pickens, Thomas Alexander, calls for action about the bridge spanning Lake Hartwell from Clemson to Oconee.  About the U-S 123 bridge, Alexander confirms:  “I have made a request to have the bridge resurfaced or other attention to the bridge for smoothness.”

A car and an Oconee school bus collided yesterday near Salem, according to information received by 101.7/WGOG NEWS.  Spokeswoman Jennifer Dodd of the school district said 13 students were aboard, but just one bus student required an assessment by a school nurse.  No other injuries known.

An apparent line break at W. Union (vicinity of Itron) has spewed water that has frozen quickly on the roadway — backing up traffic both directions.
