Mental health summit next month in Oconee

A long-time northeast Georgia school teacher is identified as a stabbing victim in rural Stephens County.  An arrest has been made.  Reports carried by Toccoa WNEG and Lake Hartwell Radio WLHR indicate an arrest and charges of murder and aggravated assault against 39-year-old Toccoa resident Christopher Vaughn. Missing kayaker

During a second day of search, divers looked for a missing kayaker at Lake Hartwell.  The target search area:  the Port Bass section of the lake in the Fair Play area.  The missing man, described to 101.7/WGOG NEWS, as an elderly person seen Wednesday struggling with the kayak.  Yesterday divers used sonar and other equipment, to no avail.

Christmas afternoon chase ends with arrest

Oconee Sheriff’s Office has brought multiple charges against a 30-year old Seneca man after a Christmas morning chase that started near Clemson and ended near his home.   Law enforcement records identify the arrested man as Demarcus Shawntez Taylor.
