Tuesday’s COVID-19 state numbers are in

This afternoon’s COVID-19 report from the state health agency reveals 1,205 new South Carolina cases–27 of them in Oconee County.  The newest numbers reflect the count by 11:59 Tuesday night.  Added to the South Carolina virus death toll:  59 individuals, including an additional Oconee resident.  Of 29,431  test results received, the newest positivity:  8.5%.

Private sector jobs increase in U-S and S. Carolina

The U-S economy widened between August and September, an increase of 568 thousand private sector jobs.  For South Carolina, the latest figures available cover August, and they show a 3,394 increase in people at work when compared to July.  For Oconee County, according to the Department of Employment and Workforce, the August unemployment rate was 3.9%.  It was 4.4% in […]

October is Disability Awareness Month in Seneca.  It has been so proclaimed by the mayor, the Hon. Dan Alexander.  In part, the proclamation on which the mayor affixed his signature, reads:  “National Disability Employment Awareness Month recognizes that individuals with disabilities are capable, contributing members of society worthy of full access and inclusion in South Carolina’s workforce.”
