At their first 2024 meeting, Oconee sewer commissioners are to renew discussion of county government’s plan for a $25 million planned sewer expansion, linked to the southern part of the county.  The commission board meets tomorrow afternoon at the Seneca Water Plant.

A 47-year-old Westminster man, operating a moped, died in a late afternoon accident on U-S 123/the Toccoa Highway.  Coroner Karl Addis identified the decedent as Richard Bryan White Jr. The state patrol reported the accident shortly before 6 pm at 123 at Burton Road, four miles west of the city limits.

Of 631 public adoptions completed statewide in the closing days of 2023, nine of those adoptions were in Oconee County.  On November 20 alone, Adoption Day in South Carolina, 74 public adoptions were finalized in four county family courts:  Greenville, Sumter, Charleston, and Horry.
