No problems found in Keowee Dam inspection

A special inspection of the Keowee Dam in Oconee County turned up no problems, according to an official of “FERC” – the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.  Michael Woodruff inspected a de-watered power tunnel of the Keowee Dam last Tuesday and, according to “FERC” engineer Wayne King, the inspection found the power tunnel to be in satisfactory condition.

Oconeean killed in Pickens County traffic accident

An Oconee County woman was killed in a late Saturday afternoon head-on crash near Central.  Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelley said Deborah Williams died of blunt force trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene, Six Mile Highway at Red Fox Road.  Williams was 71 years old and lived on Ebenezer Road, West Union.  State trooper Matt Southern said Williams […]

Boil advisory lifted

Westminster on Saturday lifted the boil advisory that applied to customers in the vicinity of the Welcome Church Road.  According to the city, a second round of samples confirmed there’s no bacteriological contamination.  The advisory had been in place since Thursday.
