Controlled burn today on U-S forest land

The Andrew Pickens Ranger District of the U-S Service has announced a 108-acre controlled burn today in the Brasstown area of Oconee County near Long Creek.  USFS officials predict smoke impacts will be minimal and last a short duration.  The purposes for the controlled burn are fuels reduction, wildlife habitat, and research through Clemson University.
