Under a mostly cloudy sky, U-S Forest Service will undertake a prescribed burn of an area of about 130 acres today at Long Creek.  For this burn, the objectives are to benefit wildlife habitat.  They are forecasting light smoke over a short duration.

Parts of the Whitewater Falls Road north of Salem remain blocked to traffic this morning, in the aftermath of an accident early last night.  In that accident, we are told, an 18-wheeler truck plowed thru guardrail down an embankment into woods.  The truck was carrying beer.  The driver is believed to have sustained minor injuries only
