Because of the threat of inclement weather, there will be no COVID-19 tests performed today at Clemson’s Nettles Park.

Fire fighters were three hours last night at a fire in the Port Bass Community, believed to have been a mobile home on N. Davis Drive.  According to Rural Fire Control, no one hurt but the American Red Cross is assisting the family impacted by the damage.

By 1:30 this afternoon, Oconee School District’s plan is to operate the public schools on normal schedule tomorrow.  But the district has issued this following statement, considering there’s a possibility of tornadoes during the day tomorrow:  “We will continue to monitor weather developments and communicate any change in that plan as soon as the decision is made.  Please be aware […]

St. Patrick’s Day is a national holiday in Ireland.  It’s also the anniversary of the founding of Westminster in the year 1874, making today Oconee’s third largest municipality 146 years old.  Like Seneca, Westminster is one of those places that formed around railroad tracks–in this instance the tracks that linked Atlanta and Charlotte.
