Oconee Rural Fire Control is aware of an effort by the U-S Forest Service to put a stop to a wildfire fire at Burrell’s Ford near the Chattooga River.  It’s possible, also, says county fire chief Chris Smith, that the smoke seen north of Tamassee could that which is generated by wildfires in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
