Big money for Walhalla

Walhalla learned yesterday of the approval of a $500 thousand grant for the first phase of the city’s Greenway project.  The money was awarded by the Appalachian Regional Commission.  This money will allow for 4,250 linear feet of pedestrian and bicycle paths in the downtown.  Overall, Greenway is about 3.25 miles running along North and South Broad streets.  The trail […]

DHEC yesterday announced 712 new confirmed cases and 19 new probable cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19, 45 additional confirmed deaths and one new probable death.  Three Oconee County cases were included in the latest count. Tuesday’s South Carolina COVID-19 numbers

South Carolina DHEC announced 928 new cases yesterday of COVID-19, along with 45 more deaths–including one Oconee County elderly resident who died Saturday.  The new numbers propel total South Carolina pandemic cases more than 101 thousand; the latest death poll exceeds 2,000 (2,012.)  By Monday, nearly 854 thousand tests had been conducted statewide and the positivity percentage Monday was 20%.
