Graduation time ahead at Southern Wesleyan

Graduates of Southern Wesleyan will be recognized during two ceremonies this month on the Central campus. Speaker will be Michael Batchelor, chief executive officer of Baptist Easley Hospital. Parade tonight in Clemson

Santa Claus moves tonight from Seneca to Clemson. The city of Clemson’s annual Christmas parade is planned for 6 o’clock on College Avenue, highway 93, to Strode Circle. Festivities that start one hour before the parade include hot chocolate and a performance by the “Yams.”

Building destined for manufacturing operation

Members of the Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority were told last night that a West Union building is destined for a manufacturing operation. Bob Winchester, executive director for the JRSA, said a closing on the building is scheduled for Friday and he understands the operation planned there is a parts assembly operation.

Construction suspended for worker’s funeral

Work on the project at Seneca’s water plant was suspended yesterday for the funeral in Liberty of the 54-year old worker who died Friday at a Greenville hospital. Coroner Karl Addis said Charles Austin Keeler died Friday morning in the neuro-trauma unit at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Keeler was hospitalized after a fall November 19 from…

HIV testing encouraged

Today is World AIDS Day and, according to the state Department of Health and Environmental Control, 15,700 people are living with HIV in South Carolina.
