Two members of the Keowee Fire Protection Commission at Keowee Key will be the only ballot candidates for two commission seats in the November General Election.  They are Don Chamberlain and Bill Griffiths.  Residents of the Keowee Fire District had until noon today to qualify as candidates to run November 3.

Crossroads motorcycle crash fatal to 40-year old

A 40-year old motorcycle operator lost his life yesterday when his bike left a rural Oconee road and hit a mailbox, fence, and tree.  Coroner Karl Addis said Keith Wesley Wilson of Seneca died at the scene.  The accident was reported around 1:45 in the afternoon.
