Walhalla woman dies in Saturday evening crash

An 18 year-old Walhalla woman died Saturday night in a single vehicle wreck near Westminster. The Highway Patrol says the crash occurred at 8:25 PM on South Highway 11 near the intersection of Mountain and Critter Roads. Officials investigate allegations against Assistant Principal

Oconee County School Superintendent Dr. Mike Lucas says the district is investigating a complaint that Assistant Principal Charlie Fowler of Walhalla High School posted an “inappropriate comment” on the web. Lucas says Fowler has been placed on leave and the matter will be resolved this week.
