The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Seattle Seahawks 13-6 Thursday at home in San Francisco. 49ers quarterback Alex Smith went 14 of 23 for 140 yards and one touchdown, while Seattle QB Russell Wilson went 9 of 23 for 122 yards, with no touchdowns, an interception and two sacks.

In High School Volleyball on Monday, Daniel defeated Walhalla 3-0. The top-ranked Lions won by scores of 25-11, 25-13 and 25-14. Daniel is unbeaten in Western AAA. They wrap up the regular season Wednesday, hosting Seneca, while Walhalla will travel to West-Oak. Elsewhere Monday, West-Oak defeated Seneca 3-1.
