Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis says a 75 year-old resident of Keowee Key was found dead late Saturday night. A medical helicopter flew one person from a Sunday night car accident near Westminster on the Greenfield Road. No immediate word on the condition. A Friday night fire destroyed the Coneross Creek Road home of Gary Crawford. Oconee County Emergency Services reports everyone in the home made it out safely.

Compressed helium thought to be fire

A passerby saw what looked like smoke in the back of Mountain View Medical Imaging on Highway 123 in Seneca on Labor Day morning, but it turned out to be compressed helium from an MRI machine at the facility. Seneca Fire Chief Jan Oliver says there was no fire.
