South Carolina lands 2014 catcher

The South Carolina baseball team has picked up its first commitment from a catcher for the 2014 class from Hunter Taylor (5-11 190) of Onley, VA., according to TheBigSpur.com.   Taylor picked the Gamecocks over North Carolina, Virginia and Virginia Tech. Spurrier says Shaw will start against Missouri

South Carolina football coach Steve Spurrier says Connor Shaw will start at quarterback Saturday afternoon when the Gamecocks return to SEC Eastern play against Missouri at Williams-Brice Stadium. Spurrier said Shaw threw well in Monday’s practice and is showing no effects from the injury to his throwning shoulder.  Kick-off Saturday is set for 3:30 PM.
