South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore did not practice Wednesday because of a bruised hip and coach Steve Spurrier said his junior star might not start Saturday against No. 3 Florida.  Spurrier had said Lattimore was running well earlier in the week, but the injury kept him out of Wednesday’s workout. Earnhardt, Jr. to miss next two races with concussion

Dale Earnhardt Jr. has a concussion and will sit out the next two Sprint Cup races at Charlotte and Kansas.  The injury ends NASCAR’s most popular driver’s championship chances this season.  Hendrick Motorsports says Earnhardt Jr. was diagnosed Wednesday afternoon. Gamecocks get Georgia D-lineman

DL Kelsey Griffin (6-2 290) of Hoschton, GA Wednesday announced a commitment to play football at South Carolina. Griffin is considered to be one of the top defensive line prospects in the country. Last season Griffin had 98 tackles with 24 tackles for loss. He is the 21st commitment for the Gamecocks’ 2013 class.
