Autopsy Report Released –Tuesday Shooting Victim

Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis has released the results of the autopsy performed on 21 year old James Evan Tyner.  According to Coroner Addis, Tyner died a result of cervical spinal cord trauma due to a gunshot wound to the neck.

Tyner’s death has been ruled a homicide.    After responding to the report of a shooting early Tuesday morning, deputies found Tyner’s body lying near the junction of Blackjack Road and Mount Pleasant Road.  Investigators with the Oconee Sheriff’s Office are continuing the investigation.  Shane Adam Burdette, age 34 of Westminster remains in custody on charges of murder in the shooting.
