Baby Read to recieve foundation grant

A Washington-based foundation will help an Oconee early literacy program to maintain and expand its services.  The Max and Victoria Dreyfus Foundation approved $3 thousand dollars for Oconee Baby Read—money to be used to pay bills and expand activities such as Story Time.  Carel von Hippel, Baby Read founder, says the early literacy effort will also try to expand into working with low income daycare programs including 32 babies in Early Head Start and their families in Seneca.  Along with Dr. von Hippel, volunteers Dottie Gray and Janice Garcia wrote the grant application approved by the Dreyfus foundation.
