Bagwell wants “a little more from every citizen”

The preliminary budgets approved last night by Walhalla City Council raise utility and sanitation charges, but the mayor pro-tem says it’s not enough. And Councilman Tjay Bagwell said he still wants every Walhallan to pay “a little more.” Bagwell last night complained that in adopting the budgets, as proposed, the city council will be perpetuating the mistakes made by previous councils. Reading from a prepared statement, Bagwell made his appeal during last night’s first readings of the budgets. Later his comments elicited a response from Danny Edwards. The mayor said he did not agree with all of Bagwell’s sentiments, but does agree with some of them.
