The Belk department store chain in the Carolinas has been around for 125 years—-74 years with stores in Seneca. And next week Belk plans a breakfast meeting for VIPs and a special presentation in front of the store. Heather Trevino, Belk’s Seneca manager, says plans for the Wednesday, May 29 observance are falling together nicely. Since the late 1980s, Belk has kept an anchor position in Applewood Shopping Center. Prior to that, when it was known as Gallant-Belk, the store operated on North First Street in Seneca’s downtown.
