Big doings for the American Legion

The Walhalla American Legion held ground breaking last month at its new post home at 225 Kenneth Street in Walhalla.  On a rainy afternoon, the legionnaires, reported a crowd of more than 100.  Spokesman Jerry Dyar said, “Our post already has a set of plans for the building designed by McKibben Architects of Seneca and we’re finalizing our site engineering plans to be submitted to the local county Building Code Department for its review.”  The post meets for its monthly dinner/meeting on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6pm at the current post location on North Church Street in Walhalla.  And all veterans who served on active duty during a time the United States was at war are eligible for membership in Post 124.
