Bill Sandifer talks road improvements

Oconee’s senior member of the state House of Representatives likes Governor Nikki Haley’s idea for getting South Carolina out of its pickle with roads and highway work—at least short-term. Bill Sandifer, Seneca Republican, says he’d like to see increases in revenue as forecast by the state’s Board of Economic Advisers to be applied to the Department of Transportation. Longer term, Sandifer favors committing the tax on car sales to the DOT. In an interview with 96.3/WGOG NEWS, Sandifer held firm to his position against raising the gasoline tax, which has been unchanged since 1987.
