Blue Ridge Electric’s 76th membership meeting

During a meeting last night in Pickens, three incumbent directors Joel Davis of Oconee County, Pickens County’s Spencer Dalton, and Kenneth Southerlin representing Greenville and Spartanburg counties were reelected by acclamation to new three year terms on the board of directors of the Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative.  The elections were part of the 76th annual Blue Ridge meeting, attended by an estimated five thousand people. In his management report, President/CEO Charles Dalton made reference to economic-development projects that were adding significant electrical load to the cooperative’s system.  He said the co-op was beefing up power lines and energizing new substations in order to meet these and other added demands for service. Liberty resident Stephen Jewell won the grand prize of the evening, 2007 Dodge Ram pickup.
