Boating Safety Meeting Coming to Clemson

If you’re a boater on SC lakes, rivers or coastline, you’re encouraged to attend one of the boating safety public meetings being conducted by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. The DNR has several meetings scheduled around the state, the first which will be held Thursday in Conway, South Carolina. The DNR has a meeting scheduled at the DNR Clemson Office on August 25, in the auditorium on Natural Resources Drive in Clemson. South Carolina has abundant water resources with more than 8,000 miles of rivers, 460,000 acres of lakes, and 3,000 miles of coastline. As of 2014, there were approximately 485,000 registered boats in South Carolina. The Palmetto State consistently ranks in the top ten of all states for registered boats.
