Bond denied for murder defendant

An accused murderer who eluded authorities for nearly one year was returned to jail this morning, after being told by the Oconee General Sessions judge that, at least for now, he is not entitled to a bond.  A trial date has yet to be set in the case of Dw’Ntrquis Rashaad Campbell.  The Greenwood man is charged with murder and other charges that arose in March 2015 during a night time party at Sonny’s Bar and Grill on the Shiloh Road.  Anthony Letron Holden of Seneca died as the result of a shooting at the party.  Holden’s mother, Sarah Holden, spoke in opposition to allowing Campbell a bond.  Campbell’s attorney, William Yarborough, said his client is entitled to a bond and he appealed for a reasonable bond and added that his side would like to see a speedy resolution to the case.  But Judge Lawton McIntosh decided Campbell is a risk for flight, has a prior record, and is facing multiple charges.
