Bonelli charged with double murder

Nicholas Bonelli is charged in the murders of two Oconee women.

An 86-year old Oconeean has been arrested on two charges of murder. Arrest records show Nicholas Bonelli, the accused, as sharing the same Smith Farm Road address as one of the women he’s accused of killing. A statement released last night by the Oconee Sheriff’s Department said Bonelli was incarcerated and no bond haring has been scheduled. The arrest warrants allege Bonelli stabbed both Clarine Smith and Smith’s niece, Sandra Myers. Coroner Karl Addis says autopsies show Smith died of a head injury due to blunt force trauma and that Myers died of a stab wound to her chest. Addis said, “These injuries are believed to have occurred in a time frame estimated between 2:30 and 4:30 p-m on Friday.”
