Bridge replacement underway on Bountyland Road

Part of Oconee’s rural Bountyland Road is blocked to thru traffic as part of a detour, created by the start of a bridge replacement project. The bridge being replaced is located near the Foothills Community Church. The project is being financed through a contract issued last year as part of South Carolina’s Act 98 Program. The work is expected to take three months. It’s one of three bridge replacement projects this year in Oconee County. Others are the bridge over Richland Creek near Poplar Springs Road and the Perkins Creek Road bridge between W. S. 4th St. and N. Radio Station Road in Seneca.
