Bridge to be repaired not replaced

At a rural fire substation, Oconee County officials last night heard all they needed to about whether to proceed with plans to replace a community bridge. Instead, those attending a public meeting at the Holly Springs Fire Department, influenced county leaders to repair Cobb Road Bridge—-instead of the more costly project of replacing it. In order now is a paint job and sufficient repairs to once again make Cobb Road Bridge over the Chauga River safe for trucks and school buses.
