Burdette guilty of voluntary manslaughter

The Oconee trial of Adam Burdette ended with a guilty verdict to a lesser charge than murder. The jury found Burdette not guilty of murder, but guilty of voluntary manslaughter and guilty of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Burdette is 36, and the sentence handed down by the judge sends him to prison for 15 years for voluntary manslaughter and five years for the weapons offense. Burdette apologized to the family of the victim, Evan Tyner, saying, “I want everyone to know I am truly sorry for that.”
