Burglary and attempted arson

Oconee sheriff’s officers are turning to the public for help in solving a burglary and attempted arson Thanksgiving morning in Utica. After talking with fire fighters, investigators determined someone tried to start a fire in the kitchen of an Ames Street home. Investigators determined there was forced entry and the theft of items worth more than $10 thousand. If you have information that can help solve these crimes, call Crime Stoppers at 638-STOP. You don’t have to give your name. If your tip leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2 thousand.
