Burt takes to the friendly skies!

secondBurt Reynolds has apparently completed his part in Elbow Grease and, according to the Seneca events coordinator, was scheduled to fly home this morning to Jupiter, Florida. It means that Reynolds will not be taking Mayor Alexander up on an invitation to be part of tonight’s Jazz on the Alley. (By 9 this morning Jazz on the Alley, in spite of the rain, had not been cancelled. Events Coordinator Riley Johnson is keeping his fingers crossed.) Reynolds departure also means that he apparently won’t be in the stands at Death Valley Saturday night when his alma mater, Florida State, plays Clemson. But the actor, who gained fame after starring in Deliverance more than 40 years ago, has left Oconee with having made good impressions on those who got to meet him, get his autograph, and pose for pictures.
