Businessman charged in drowning death

South Carolina DNR officials have confirmed they’ve charged a business owner with providing improper equipment to a Clemson student who drowned in March on Lake Jocassee. According to the DNR, Anlin Wang of Central was given a life jacket of the wrong size. The charge of providing improper equipment levied against Charlie Michael, owner of the Jocassee Outdoor Center, carried a maximum fine of $475 dollars. Wang’s body was recovered March 17 after a search that began when the kayak he and his wife were using capsized. The wife lost contact with her husband and swam to safety.
