Busy Greenville intersection to be re-configured

A busy Greenville intersection is to undergo a re-configure, courtesy of funding from the state’s Act 98 fund in the South Carolina Transportation Infra-structure Bank. The contractor, Flatiron-Zachry Joint Venture, receives more than $230 million to re-surface, replace ramps, and build additional lanes at interstates 85 and 385. The project is aimed at greater traffic capacity for an intersection that sees 194 thousand vehicles a day. It’s to be the largest infra-structure project in the state since the construction of the Ravenel Bridge in Charleston in 2001. Other Act 98 projects are underway or have been completed, such as a secondary road re-surfacing project in Pickens County.
