By late morning, .07″ snow measured

By late morning, seven-tenths of an inch of snow had been officially measured in Walhalla. Barbara Wilson, weather observer, said with a 33-degree reading the snow was melting quickly. Conditions beginning tonight are expected to change that. Governor Haley has declared a State of Emergency to mobilize resources should they be needed. She has ordered all state government offices to follow county government closing decisions. Unless conditions deteriorate this afternoon, Oconee County government offices will remain open until 5 p-m. Closings or delays pertaining to tomorrow will be announced, as soon as a determination is made, according to Amanda Brock, county public information officer. Oconee public schools will be closed tomorrow for a second day. Until conditions become safe, city of Clemson garbage and recycling trucks are running regular schedule. But the routes are cancelled both tomorrow and Thursday. Clemson city offices tentatively re-open at 1 p-m Thursday. CATbus service will run tomorrow or Thursday.
