Cain and Sloan pleased by Sanctuary Pointe announcement

Two Oconee County leaders are encouraged by the developers’ announcement of a revised master plan to develop an I-85 Lake Hartwell peninsula.  Ken Sloan, director of the Mountain Lakes Convention Visitors Bureau, says this could be the solution to the lack of a tourism draw in the southern part of the Oconee County.  The peninsula sits near the South Carolina-Georgia border—about mid way on the busy Charlotte-Atlanta interstate corridor.  Chairman Paul Cain of the Oconee County Council says what the Sanctuary Pointe project portends ties in with the county’s Destination Oconee plan.
