Call for volunteers

Seneca could use your help in staging events that will highlight the city’s notable leaders, from the Reconstruction Period through the Civil Rights Movement. According to Dr. John Martin, volunteers are needed for events to take place during Black History Month, all month during February in Seneca. Martin is the director and curator of the Lunney House Museum and Bertha Lee Strickland Cultural Museum, and he may be reached at 864/882-4811. Among the many needs are volunteers to be tour guides at African-American sites, along with hosts and set-up technicians for the showing of film documentaries. Those interested are asked to meet at 6 Friday night at Gignilliat on N. Townville Street.
