“Call to Action” staged against domestic violence

About 250 people rallied last night in Walhalla to hear a message for them to use faith and get involved in helping to eliminate domestic violence. Among the speakers, Becky Callaham of the domestic shelter organization Safe Harbor said most victims of domestic violence are not hearing their pastors speak about the subject. Callaham added, at times, when the message to victims is to have patience, the message is wrong. Sheriff Mike Crenshaw read a poem from the effects of a 27-year old Seneca woman discovered strangled last week. Alana Carpenter’s boyfriend has been arrested and charged with her murder.
