Campus landmark in its final days?

The life of a Clemson University landmark may soon come to an end.  A committee report calling for the demolition of the Clemson House, which sits on a perch above the main campus, is on the agenda of this morning’s meeting of the university board of trustees.  If the Clemson House is demolished, the demolition will be another change in the looks of the campus which is seeing a building boom and causing long time Clemson people to fret that they are losing a small town-style college campus.  In its heydays, the Clemson House was home to many students and provided overnight stays to many of the rich and famous–Groucho Marx, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, and the country singer Tom T. Hall, to name a few.
