Campus police arrest two

Clemson University police arrested an Oconee County man for allegedly carrying a weapon on public property and for illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. According to a university announcement, James Anthony Durham of Cobb Drive, Seneca was charged with felonies after an officer located a stolen handgun on the ground beside a parked vehicle on Centennial Boulevard. The campus police say they had received information that the gun was stolen, just before officers located and interviewed Durham. The defendant is not a student or university employee. The university police also arrested a Clemson man on the charge of possession of a stolen vehicle. Neil Nathaniel Hedden of Knollwood Drive was charged after an officer stopped him for suspicion of driving under the influence. Officers say they confirmed the vehicle had been stolen in Franklin County, Georgia. Hedden is not a university student or employee.
