Candidate qualifies and is nominated

The state’s Judicial Merit Selection Commission has deemed attorney Scott Sprouse of Walhalla qualified to move into Seat Two, Tenth Circuit Judge, serving Oconee and Anderson counties. The commission yesterday gave Sprouse a unanimous vote as it nominated him to run in a May 28 election by the state legislature. He’ll go into that election unopposed to succeed Alex Macaulay who retires December 31.
