Candidates pitch for votes in Seneca

Politics 2016 arrived in Oconee County last night during the first candidates’ forum of the election year.  About 50 people attended the event sponsored by the Oconee Republican Party.  The candidates for circuit solicitor and for three seats on the Oconee County Council got a chance to make statements and answer questions, a few of which seemed to get under the skin of two of the candidates.  The decision by Solicitor Chrissy Adams to leave office this year makes available the job of chief criminal prosecutor in the 10th Judicial Circuit of Oconee and Anderson counties.  The race features two employees of Adams’ office and one man who has spent six years as Oconee’s public defender.  The candidates are Wilson Burr, Rame Campbell, and David Wagner.
