Car accident followed Rotary Club meeting

 Two cars collided at the Walhalla traffic light intersection of W. Main and N. Church streets. According to responders, no one was hurt in the accident involving cars driven by retired school district administrator John Lay and State Representative Bill Whitmire. In the impact, Lay’s car flipped over and required a wrecker to move it. Whitmire told 96.3/WGOG NEWS that he helped pull Lay out of the wreckage. Whitmire’s car sustained front end damage. The police investigated. The accident occurred around 1 o’clock shortly after the two drivers had attended a Rotary Club meeting a few blocks away.
